A: GLUCOCARD 01-mini does not need to be manually coded by the user. Coding is automatically accomplished by inserting a test strip into the meter. There are three auto-codes: F-2, F-3, and F-4. (These are not error codes.) Q: How long does the battery last? A: The meter requires one lithium CR2032 battery, which generally lasts approximately 3,000 tests. A: Keep the test strip port free of blood, moisture, dirt, or dust. Use a lint-free cloth, dampened with water to clean your meter. Do not use an abrasive cloth or antiseptic solution, as these may damage the display screen. Do not clean inside the battery compartment. Q: What type of preservatives may be used? A: Heparin samples of blood may be used. Do not use other preservatives. Q: What other alternate sites are approved for GLUCOCARD 01-mini testing? A: GLUCOCARD 01-mini is approved for palm testing. Sites other than your fingertip may have fewer nerve endings, so obtaining a blood sample from the palm may be less painful. The technique for alternate site testing is different from fingertip testing so refer to the instructions that came with your meter and lancing device.
